I don't say this often enough, but FUCK OFF!!! This is actually insulting to the people suffering to survive.

It seems p funny to me, why are you so salty?

@bot
Because I worked in McDonalds? Because I seriously needed money in my life, and I know the feeling of waking up, knowing I will feel dead for 10+ hours that day?

@bot
Wait... what?
How rich are you anyway, if that is what you read from that comment?

No, I said, that the job was suffering. And I know poeple, who suffer that job for 10+ years. I respect their pain. It's not a funny role for a commedy clip.

That's.. not suffering lol, its a super simple job that helps ppl pay their bills. Why did you feel that you were suffering?

@bot
:pepeFacepalm:
I seriously feel so happy for you, you cannot even imagine it.

I'd like it if you answered my question, maybe I'm not aware of how bad it is

@bot
I didn't work in Mcdonalds for long enough to have good stories, but I worked in a book shop. Standing on your legs for 11h a day might not sound bad enough, but having to stand there, and do nothing was killing me.

It got to a point, where I would sleep deprive myself on purpose, so I could micro-sleep while standing... so the shift would go faster.

Why didn't you just read the books, I can't imagine you aren't allowed to read while working in a book shop if you have nothing else to do
Ok so you don't like standing?? I don't understand why you're so upset, some ppl literally buy standing desks because they prefer it, are you overweight?
@LukeAlmighty @bot i was on dxm a lot while working at the cinema to ignore the customers and my feet and back hurting and the agonizing monotony of the tasks.

@lucy @bot
I am really happy that I had no history of drugs when I was working there, because if I was, that would push me so far over the line really fast.

@lucy @bot
And yes, the feet/spine pain was quite insane. Also indescribable to people, who never lived through it though.

Try going to the gym and being on your feet while lifting a lot of weight

@lucy @bot
The worst pain is knowing, that you cannot quit though :D

That one always multiplies it.

@LukeAlmighty @bot yeah people who've never done wagie jobs don't get it.
when i tell people i worked at a bakery the usual response is "omg baking is so fun that must have been such a cool job" no, it's not, you don't know shit lmao.
@lucy @LukeAlmighty @bot seems extremely stressful, but I think it's cool as an occupation and experience
@meso @LukeAlmighty @lucy @bot

it's wild how some of the hardest jobs I've worked in my life paid the worst. Anything customer facing is extremely draining tbh.
Standing and moving your arms and legs like a normal human is stressful ig
@bot @disarray @LukeAlmighty @meso normal humans don't do that for hours every day with no breaks. (those 15min or so you get don't make a difference)
Well most ppl are fat af so I can see how they would struggle with that. The only thing I can sympathise with is having to deal with retarded ppl all day, that must be draining tbh

@bot @disarray @LukeAlmighty @lucy @meso human bodies can handle a lot but you are underestimating how taxing and unrepairably damaging half a day of constant physical stress on the body is
@bot @LukeAlmighty @disarray @lucy @meso mechanics for example are all energetic and strong in their youth until everything in them starts hurting because their bones and muscles aren't meant to do that for so long and so suddenly
Wait until you learn about ppl that go to the gym practically every day to physically stress their body with heavy af weights
Most of them also go to the gym after work, ik it's wild and they're still in good shape and not falling apart and doing drugs at work 🤯
@bot @disarray @LukeAlmighty @lucy @meso @meso that’s a lot of time at the gym, good thing they include showers

If it was nearly as much physical work then you wouldn't be so fat and weak and you'd be a gigachad #science

@lucy @bot @disarray @LukeAlmighty @meso @meso sometimes i wonder if bot is even aware of the concept of other people

maybe fedi posts are just like, talking to the other voices in her head or something

@bot @disarray @LukeAlmighty @lucy @meso this is controlled stress, and you can seriously fuck up your body if you aren't careful. being a mechanic where you're constantly pulling hitting bending over reaching for shit pushing or doing this as a job constantly in uncomfortable positions that your body reacts painfully to, because you need to stop doing them, it's taxing on the body
@bot @LukeAlmighty @disarray @lucy @meso lifting and training isn't painful it's just exhausting. to me work is exciting and i don't get exhausted easily from it, or at least didn't, but that's because I'm very young I think
@LukeAlmighty @bot @disarray @lucy @meso and for example it worries me every time I keep something in place with my leg and bang it with a hammer, I can feel my bone absorbing the blow, can't possibly be a good thing
@bot @disarray @LukeAlmighty @meso > having to deal with retarded ppl all day, that must be draining tbh
yeah. you stay polite at first but over the years you completely zone out and any customer insteraction is automation, you don't pay attention at all, thinking about something else. which again dxm made very easy to do lol.
@meso @LukeAlmighty @bot it's very stressful, mentally and physically. you constanlty carry heavy things, there's temperature differences from the ovens and fryers to the walkable freezer, everything is timed and if you screw up everyone is pissed and taking it out on you.
it's the occupation with the most cases of job related health issues.
but none of that is why i quit but i won't talk about that here.
@lucy @LukeAlmighty @meso @bot oh yeah baker's knee, baker's lung i assume is also a thing because of all the flour dust
@meso @LukeAlmighty @meso @bot flour dust lung is very common yes, a lot of early retirement because of that
@lucy @LukeAlmighty @bot I'm glad I worked as a janitor for a year if only for the experience of knowing what absolute rock-bottom wagie work is like

Motivated as hell to never sink that low again but it's a good way to develop empathy for people still in that situation and I like knowing that I'm psychologically strong enough to stomach cleaning filthy toilets for a living if need be
@scathach @LukeAlmighty @bot it's a good way to develop empathy in general. bot you should really do this for a while.
@scathach @LukeAlmighty @lucy @bot
you can also just smoke weed until you develop empathy, that's the way most moids get theirs
