@PurpCat
My experience was exact oposite. It run every game I wanted, including games from outside of Steam.

I cannot possibly shit on it, because it just works.

@LukeAlmighty @PurpCat You're not getting it

Either the retard in the pic is lying and he never had one, or he didn't check the options and co and never activated Proton (IIRC, it's all somehow turned off by default)

@coolboymew @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty proton works by default out of the box. OP just has a skill issue and only plays DRM-infested slop

@VD15 @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty Does it? I seem to recall that even recently, on PC, it's not turned on by default. I can't recall on the Deck though, been too long

Otherwise you may be right "Lame indie titles and offline games", dude may be a retard that plays nothing but online DRM'd slop, which is a lot of people...

@coolboymew @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty I tried the other day on space marine 2. It enabled automatically, spent about five minutes compiling shaders but worked just fine afterwards.

@VD15 @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty AAA games works though. This is probably one of those questionable people who still somehow only have 10 games in their Steam account
@coolboymew @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty @VD15 This is like one of those people who has a Steam account just to play PUBG or CS2 on PC and maybe bought a couple of under $5 games on Steam to diversify their library ig
@eric @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty @VD15 It's just puzzling at this point because of constant free giveaways, years of super discounts, bundles sites that has been going on for years

There's like no excuses to have a library of 10 games max
@coolboymew @eric @LukeAlmighty @PurpCat @VD15 >There's like no excuses to have a library of 10 games max

oh there is, being an insufferable faggot who plays video games not even because he likes them or anything just because he has nothing else to do, to slopmaxx

btw, if you give them new games, they will be gatekept by the fact that they will have to learn to get good at a game that isn't super global tactical shooter shitfuck 84, because they don't actually like video games, they got nothing better to do
@VD15 @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty @eric @coolboymew tourists?
they didn't even try to play the game, they don't even engage with it, they are just suffering in misery all alone.
do not feel bad for them, it is because of an inherent flaw in their character that they suffer so much
@themilkman @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty @VD15 @coolboymew Yeah like, a lot of people I've seen just play a rotation of whatever games that are popular. Mostly consists of CS, Valorant, whatever the latest GTA, Apex Legends and whatnot

@coolboymew @PurpCat @eric @VD15
Epic games.
If you're broke, it IS the best option. I never gave them a single Koruna, but I refuse to shit that many free games.

@LukeAlmighty @PurpCat @eric @VD15 I don't even give Epic the time of day attempting to take over the market with Fortnite's money instead of making a good store people like

@coolboymew @PurpCat @eric @VD15
And I am not mad, but when comparing consoles vs PC, the most common argument is "muh consoles cheaper"...

And that argument is absolutely pointless for brokies once you count in the Epic games.

@VD15 @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty @coolboymew iirc proton is only default enabled for games that are certified compatible, so you have to enable it for use with other titles in the settings. After that the whole experience is pretty smooth, though protondb is a lifesaver for the weirder issues.
@slash @PurpCat @LukeAlmighty @VD15 ah yes, that must be it. Back when the Steam Deck was new, it was still a massive work in progress

Hell, it still it even though practically everything just works now
@slash @LukeAlmighty @VD15 @coolboymew on the deck they made it enable for all, the problem is that anticheat developers don't care about 4 nerds using linux to game vs the people who found out how to cheat on linux
