in normal school i was not once taught a single piece of data, not a smidgeon of a nugget of a glimpse of info about being a freelancer/entrepreneur.
But theres only 2 ways to make it, work for someone, or work for yourself. But i sure knew a lot about working for someone after school was done. And obviously it makes sense, since most people like the ability to plan vacations, budgets, weekends, guaranteed wages.
As opposed to the self-emplyed man's random days that alternate between tight 7 day weeks, to 2 working day months. Every single day making a new choice of "do i continue. yes why not", for a new paycheck that might come next week or in 2 months. Maybe never lmao. Normies and big corpos budget with spreadsheets. Small-scale and onemancompany's budget with hopes and vibes. Both are enabled by the free market and thats awesome.
And i love the option of choice. I simply wish that entrepreneurship and its related topics were taught in common school, just like math or literature - it is critical for becoming and being a functioning cog in society, especially if you are the "i really dont want a fucking cashier job for 10 years and then maybe become the local shop market's shift manager" person. And most importantly - the knowhow to swap between both worlds, or even live simultaneously in both worlds.
The world is becoming faster and more dynamic by the second, a company refusing to follow a new ruleset and shift in culture in a year can be instantly, bankruptingly fatal today.
After all, the safety of a employment contract is an emotional illusion too! BUT - does the average worker plan for the loss of his job? Non. Doesnt that mean that the security of salary VS independence of a worker (employee vs self-employed) is based on a illusionary abstract concept? yeah
but emotion is important, and it is irrelevant if it is a illusion or not. it is important. So i think its vital that we teach this to children as a baseline concept along others around grade 9 - 12, probably one year in grade 9 and one year in grade 12 in more detail. Doesnt even have to be a full school year of once a week , honestly.

And it's not even serving anyone anymore. It used to be that they'd teach you how to be a factory worker because the economy was growing and they needed factory workers. Now they teach you how to work in ... what ... a none-existent factory? So you can add to the unemployment statistics?

Now, they teach you rethoric and philosophy, because if you can scam a part of the population, you can earn more then any worker.
