Imagine veing such a coward, that you consider immortality a course.
Yes, eventually you will be alone in an empty void (If you take it to that extent), but is that not a worthy trait of millions of years worth of meaning?
And... so what? Do you think, that you won't learn to zone out forever eventually?

actual immortality, yes, would be torturous in many situations, including an end-state where everything is dead but you. living for thousands of years would be great though.
