It is a difference in the philosophy of fasion.
In the 80s, the fassion was all about looking as plastic as possible. That included also things like the famous perm haircut, that has to be the ugliest thing a woman could do to their head till the invention of botox.
Either way, the visibility of change was the goal, so even the implants were made with the goal of perfectly round shape, while now, fassion is about the invisible enhancements.
The fake freckles trend is seriously making my day to day life 10 times harder 
And therefore, even boobs are made to look like a natural loterry winners instead of a cyberpunk sexbot.
