Disney Star Wars is just a massive pile of shit that no one should consider to be canon. Lucas' Star Wars is mostly fine because there are literally entire planets dedicated to races and species. The strangest thing is that there are no apparent race/species wars going on which there would absolutely be even if humanity, being the most populace race in the galaxy, tried desperately to keep the peace.
