@LukeAlmighty yea hassan is eh - not like the best but hes popular and like a decent person at least so he'll do for the uninitiated.

I prefer the sourcematerial tbh. and sadly they (popular leftist creators) tend to stan china and multi polarity "antiimperialism" so like, i question how much they actually understood of what they read and claim to explain… but its whatever. party publications is probably gonna be the best modern stuff and commentary you can get if you also have a rudimentary grasp of the basics of marx, engels, and lenin. (and the others like luxembourg, thälmann, liebknecht, kollontaj)

(mao, trotsky, and juche is kind of moreso good for internal contemplation than actual good theory they state nothing new and sometimes just spout social democratisms)

but because of the materialist nature of the theory its all pretty predictable, because nothing new ever happens. like literally its all been happening all the same for 200 years atp.
