How do you tell when your parent's treatment of you had crossed the unforgivable line?
It feels so easy to say, "They were doing their best. This was their one shot at life, and they had to manage"... And I would love to believe it.
So, how hard would it be to actually hug your child from time to time? Would it be so difficult not to push onto me the idea that I'm wasting their money? Or not to threaten me with existencial dread?
Because this makes me take the stand of "this seriously isn't worth forgiveness." But then I feel like the same kind of monster. And that's not fair towards me either. One last fuck you from her abuse I guess.
@Jens_Rasmussen @LukeAlmighty I’m surprised by the stories some of my friends tell. Their parents did clearly evil things to them (no sexual abuse), thinking they were doing the best for them. Things you wouldn’t dare do to an adult stranger. Some of their parents still believe they raised their children correctly and with love. Compared to my friends, my childhood just sucked a little bit.
