@p bro I dont even get the chance to be edgy, they started adding domains to blocklists purely based on if they follow you haha

@igeljaeger
She's a fucking stalker as far as I'm concerned. How would she come about a random stream of shitposting like this? She obviously wouldn't be following Kiwifarms accounts, I don't have any interactions with her. So if @kitty was her target, she must have been combing through a lot of replies for this.
@p

@alyx @igeljaeger @kitty That's pretty fucked in the head. Why have an instance if you are going to spend all your time finding people to block? Like...I get it, I spend all my time in hellthreads, but that's at least kinda participating. This is literally just running around finding people that terrify you all day and then making sure you can't see them...until you go to their instance to see who follows them so that you can block them too.
@p @alyx @igeljaeger @kitty Why even be on the fediverse if you're just going to make it as bottlenecked, censored and closed off as facebook or twitter? Kinda defeats the whole purpose
@quaylessed @alyx @igeljaeger @kitty I think they've come over so that they can have twitter, but anyone that didn't vote Stalin as a write-in candidate is banned. They may be upset to discover that this is not what was here.
@p @alyx @igeljaeger @kitty I get weird random blocks all the time from people I have never posted to or even heard of. I guess people read TWKN and block anything that freaks them out. Only TWKN accounts I block are spambots.

@judgedread I'm probably gonna sound like a newbie idiot (which I am) but what is TWKN?
@p @igeljaeger @kitty

@alyx @p @igeljaeger @kitty The Whole Known Network, which is what Pleroma labels all the posts from users people on the instance follow.
@alyx On Pleroma the local feed is called the Public Timeline.
@judgedread @alyx @igeljaeger @kitty Yeah, I don't know why you'd even bother to block someone that has never talked to you.
@alyx @igeljaeger @kitty @p they cut out my post! Bitch. Mine had Mister Rogers in an SS cap with a gun. I mean, Kitty's post wasn't even offensive.

My disappointment in their taste is palpable.
@MisterRogersSnapped @alyx @igeljaeger @p Okay, so I've been sleeping all day because labor day, no school, hooray, and I'm just so confused by all of this.

I don't think I've ever talked to a single user that's on gab or even seen them in my timeline, and I don't get what the big deal about kiwifarms is.

I could maybe see the point in blocking freespeechextremist.com (sorry @p :P) on a more sheltered instance, but I'm just sitting here talking about a Touhou character, and someone wants to take the conversation out of context just because of who I'm talking to?

But in the end, I'm not going to block her. That would make me just as bad. Matter of fact, I went and threw a favorite on the post. :3

@kitty @MisterRogersSnapped @alyx @igeljaeger Yeah, I can understand blocking us in some contexts, but not in the context that most of the instances that have blocked us. To date, none of the instances that blocked us reached out to me to try to resolve whatever it was, and they constantly like that FSE allows spam and harassment, etc.

I think it's better to just leave blocks to individual users.

I wouldn't block her, either.
@kitty @MisterRogersSnapped @alyx @igeljaeger

"they constantly like that FSE allows spam and harassment"

should have been

"they constantly lie that FSE allows spam and harassment"

but it is funnier as-is.
@p @MisterRogersSnapped @alyx @igeljaeger I watched an interesting video last night on "When Should You Leave An Interview?" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WtPswGhPxQ) and they have made a point about both the interviewer and interviewee walking out when their views don't match or their not getting the answers that they want.
The point in why this is generally a bad thing is that enforcing your own opinion doesn't allow the general public to formulate their own, when the entire purpose of an interview is to try to get out truthful information.
It's kinda interesting how this concept could also relate to the situation at hand.
@kitty @MisterRogersSnapped @alyx @igeljaeger Yeah, there's the matter of making sure you can work there, but it's often treated like "Do you already agree?" They'll ask what my philosophy on unit testing is. It's a hivemind question. (They probably don't ask that any more, they probably ask about repo branching scheme now.) I've hacked at places with some tests, no tests, excessive testing, full-stack tests, unit tests, fuzzers running 24 hours a day. Anyone can handle whatever, there's no learning curve. They're asking to see if you already agree. (I used to like API-level tests, but I think this is probably because I think about APIs a lot.) Got passed on once due to the answer I gave (I shit you not) to the question of where I read my tech news.

(That's why I went freelance for so long. Could not stand the alternation between hivemind questions and people giving me toy problems and asking me to prove that I have basic competence at work I have spent my life doing.)
@alyx @igeljaeger @kitty @p i suggest kitty to block the homestuck homo and report her to admin for stalking.
