I get the feeling that the Linux community hates Windows more than they hate MacOS. (hmm... do they even hate MacOS?)

Since I'm ex-Windows, I guess it would be pretty clear that I have a anti-Mac bias. But there are certainly legitimate reasons to be a hater.

Lack of customization, everything is locked down, treating users like retards, lack of options for hardware due to no support, the virus safety thing is one big lie, everything is proprietary.

@alyx I think Apple is the technological embodiment of fascism.

@alyx macs are closer to linux than windows, so it's not that much different although it's still macos so meh at best

@Jessica @alyx I mean, macos is just bsd with lipstick and makeup...

@seven @alyx macos is meh. still very limiting and not very user friendly

@Jessica @alyx After installing homebrew it's about par with any bsd or linux distro, no better, no worse...

@seven @alyx except it's made by apple, one of the largest profitted companies ever
@seven @alyx same company that wants you to pay $300 to replace a piece of colored glass on the iphones.
@seven @alyx My motorola phone's back glass can be replace for $10 and can be done in under a minute

@Jessica @alyx I can do it myself, and I can get the glass for 25$ but I hear ya, apple tax is real.

@seven @alyx Motorola actually cares about right to repair and sells parts via ifixit and to some sellers on ebay

@Jessica @alyx Yeah right to repair is a thing, and certainly not part of the apple business model. They all have their issue, it's just a matter of what issues you are willing to put up with honestly...

@seven @alyx Motorola has an apple-like warranty and stuf like that, but they have no warranty void stickers or anything because they TRUST THE USER TO FIX THEIR OWN DEVICE

since Motorola is Lenovo, this means that they actually care about the user
