@ArdanianRight @ethot @thestrongest The only reason I doubt that is that the first Q posts were so low-effort and unconvincing that it's a miracle of mass stupidity that it ever took off. Basically, you would have to be extremely stupid, and extremely prone to wishful thinking, to believe Q was anything more than some internet LARPer.

Absolutely zero evidence for any of this, but it was what the MAGA crowd wanted to hear, so many just uncritically believed it.
The last few years I've barely been on Gab, so I don't know how the Q nonsense has mutated, but I do know that it was junk from the beginning, and tying legitimate revelations and scandals to junk will ultimately never help your cause.

Can't say I ever took any of the Q stuff seriously in any way. The way I see it, the claim (usually coming from the left) that people took the Qanon conspiracy theories seriously is itself a conspiracy theory. But at this point I wouldn't be surprised if most Q stuff wasn't just plain ol' leftists trying to distract people from reality.
