When you treat a pandemic like the fucking black plague, you DON'T wait a full god damned year until you decide to investigate where it came from.

I don't buy into conspiracies that it was created for some evil plan, but holly fuck, we should have had a clear understanding of where exactly this thing came from by now. The more you wait with these things, the harder it is to track down. That's why the best we know about HIV is that it was from somewhere in Africa. But Africa is fucking huge.
