Considering how fucked up big tech is right now, I'm purging my Youtube account of all comments and content I've made in the past.
Some may consider me a coward for sanitizing the hell out of it, but I actually need that google account for other stuff too. Can't afford being locked out of it.
@GNUxeava
Didn't have anything worth archiving content wise.
@icedquinn
If only it were that easy.
@colonelj
Apparently it has happened to some users though. Sure, it might also be something unrelated, but I'd rather not risk anything.
@colonelj
I've thought about it, and I do have another account I could use, but:
1) constantly switching between main account and youtube account would be a pain in the ass
2) it would definitely still lead to situations where I try to do things from the wrong account, wasting time.
3) even if I moved my comment habits to a different account, I can't exactly move my comment history too, so I'd still need to do a purge.
That was faster than I expected.
If anyone is interested in mass-purging their youtube comments, the easiest way is by hiding your account from settings->advanced settings.
After the comments are purged, you need to re-create your channel. You can find the option in the drop-down menu when you click your avatar.
