People with 666 in their usenames are weird. Like, what the hell does Caesar Nero have to do with anything? The dude put it in his mom, that's what you're into? Like, major yikes am I right?
@alyx This is actually a very interesting topic of which I just so happen to be an expert! So the 616 number comes from, if I remember correctly, a Syriac manuscript of Revelation and while it technically can't be proven that this is the reason but very coincidentally if you calculate the numerical value of what would be the standard way to write Caesar Nero in the Syriac language it comes out to 616 rather than 666 as it does in Koine Greek. This could just be circumstantial but it does lend evidence to the Nero = the beast theory as if 666 was not meant to be a numerical code (which the text explicitly says it is supposed to be but setting that aside) there'd be almost no reason for the number to change in a way consistent with that interpretation. So if the Nero theory is correct (and i do believe it is) it's not whether the number is supposed to be 666 or 616 or any other specific value but that the numbers that we do have are most easily and readily explained by calculating the same name across different languages.
