^this, sort of. There's no chance in hell I'd get anyone I know IRL to switch to anything open source. Everyone here uses fucking Whatsapp or Facebook messenger. Back in the old, pre-smartphone age, everyone used Yahoo Messenger. Moral of the story: everyone here uses the most shitty software possible for communication, and they just switch from one arbitrary "standard" to another. There's not even any variety where people use 2-3 different apps. Everyone is the same fucking sheep.
