This is why I don't give a crap for projects like this. In fact, I would wager that any open source project that doesn't have a substantial barrier of entry will suffer the same fate. Talentless hacks will eventually view it as the popular thing to do and they'll force themselves into writing some complete shit and submitting it just so they can later brag that they were a part of history. One day they'll say "Oh yeah, I totally participated in the rise of X, too bad it started falling some time later", while being completely oblivious that they are part of way everything went south.
