It's strange that the fish & bowl example feels a lot more intuitive and immediately makes you think the weight would be the sum of the two. The examples are basically identical, the fish does "fly" in the water as far as it's concerned. But we have this weird impression of air, as if it doesn't exist, when we should think of it as any other fluid.
