I have trouble thinking of aliens as animals. For me the defining feature of animals would be non-sentience, but if there are intelligent aliens out there, then they'd be something different from Earth animals.

Unresolved my ass. I'm secure enough in my masculinity to openly say that if we lived in a Harry Potter like universe, where one could drink a magical potion to truly change your sex, and it would be completely reversible, I would do it in a heartbeat to be able to experience what it would be like to be a woman.
