I've been waiting for Minds to federate forever... How is it that Gab did it so fast (even if it was poorly done), but Minds (who is supposed to be staffed by more competent people) hasn't progressed that much.

@wiggles The second one. And it’s not like it’s so hard to learn, it just requires motivation beyond a paycheck to figure it all out.
@alex I've read the spec before but I'm not sure how well I understood it
@alyx @alex @alex Probably because Minds is already as big as the entire Fediverse so it isn’t priority for them. Gab just moved all their stuff to a Mastodon instance because they needed better infrastructure and wanted back on app stores.
Minds would be adding AP to their own software. Sorta starting from scratch. Completely different strat.
