@deadheat It's not free-to-play, you can still buy it on Steam for example. Epic is just giving it away this week, as part of their every-week-a-free-game thing. But since Rage 2 is not exactly an old game, I find this really surprising.
@emilis@deadheat Yeah, I have a lot of good games in my Epic library. Including stuff like the Batman trilogy, Just Cause 4, 2 Metro games etc. But it's rare to see games that are this new being given for free like this.
@alyx@deadheat rage 2 isnt an old game, but its basically a bargain bin title, you probably have to install the bethesda launcher too so i imagine thats why they did it
Some years ago, Playstation owners who had signed up for PSN+ (paid subscription required for playing anything on multiplayer, extremely scummy policy from Soyny) you would get a free game every week or month as long as you were on PSN+, but it was always some garbage unknown game.
@deadheat A lot of what Epic gives out are indie titles, but every once in a while they give out a decent AAA too. It's just that they're usually older games, that aren't actively being played much.
@alyx @deadheat A bunch of games on Epic that were free were fairly recent. Football Manager 2020 comes to mind of the ones I know of.
