The entire shit is stupid anyway. The cases where you can actually get to emulate a brand new game, to where it would actually affect sales of the games are ridiculously low. Almost always, people emulate games that have stopped being sold brand new long ago. So best case scenario you buy it off ebay.

And if anyone tries to argue that "remasters" are a viable alternative... I'll go get my shotgun.

@alyx @lapin remasters ARE a viable option, not for the consumer but the copyright holder. Want to make money from an old ip, make a remaster and collect royalties for the REMAKE only (this is under a system where copyrighted material is allowed to enter the public domain again).
