Trying an experiment with my browser right now: I don't close tabs.
I usually function with <10 tabs, but I know there are mad men out there with dozens of them open at all time. I want to see what the impact on performance and ram usage evolves in such situations.

I'm currently at almost 40 tabs, and System Monitor reports 3.1GB usage from Vivaldi.

67 tabs, 4.6GB memory usage. I cycled through all the pages to be sure they're not hibernated or something. For a chromium browser, it's honestly not as bad as I though it would be. Of course there's always the possibility that System Monitor has missed some processes when adding stuff up.

A storm is brewing. Shutting down my PC and this experiment.

If they get saved in the normal cache folder, then in my case, since I redirected the browser cache to ramdisk, it's still stored in ram. Problem is, it won't show up in System Monitor as being memory used up by Vivaldi.
