Only games I played for an extended amount of time were Oblivion and Skyrim, and between the two Oblivion is definitely better.

I tried OpenMW and Daggerfall Unity for a bit, but not nearly long enough for an educated opinion on the two.

@alyx i just think of them as different experiences, I didn't liked having to deal with the leveling system of oblivion so the fighting became stale, Skyrim was cool at first for the novelty but you can't really do that many things, besides magic was broken, in morrowing it was the other way around magic is op but moving around in the world can make for a frustrating experience and the combat is basically click click and click;;;

Oblivion's leveling can be fixed with a single simple mod. There are plenty of complex leveling system redesigns for Oblivion, but this solution is closest to vanilla while also getting rid of having to track which skills you have to level and for how much.

For Skyrim, as far as I can tell, it can't be fixed without complete overhaul of the perk and magic systems.

@alyx ohoooo I honestly never thought of using mods, most of the time i just play games the vanilla way, gonna try this next time i play oblivion

@waifu
The best way to play most, if not all, Elder Scrolls and Fallout games is with mods.
