@icedquinn @alyx @RehnSturm256 went through all of TNG a couple years ago, the first 3 seasons are pretty rough. I don't have a lot of love for Rick Berman, but in retrospect the show got immeasurably better when Gene finally gave him the reigns.

We tried to roll right into DS9, but didn't even get through 5 epps.

I think I've did 2 complete TNG runs in my life. For me the first season is the hardest. It gets progressively better as it moves forward.
DS9 is weirder to watch because of the more mystical elements they put in it. And for me it loses a lot of the fun because they're not focused on space exploration. If anything it's probably the most war focused Star Trek show.
