Your brain stopped functioning for a second, and you accidentally clicked the video. Now your brain is back up and running, so it's natural to feel confused about how you came to watch the video.

@alyx he started talking about the materiality of chakras, I lost all respect in him.

@Xalef
Ooooh.... Spirit Science. Yeah, I've heard of the dude before. Stay way away. There's more new age pseudo-science nonsense in those than a normal human can handle.

@alyx @Xalef theosophy was fun i never cared about chakra shit tho

I can't stand to listen to this stuff. Pseudo-science has a way of making me completely pissed off and angry.

@alyx @icedquinn you know the problem I have isn't even the discussion about chakras but the materialization of an inherently mental object or idea proves to me that they don't even have certainty nor faith in their beliefs, or what ever consitute them mentally, so its not worth watching because their paradigms then depend on material scientific backgrounds, and it is this way because they don't even know what they are talking about, in other words they are not bringing any new information to the table.
@Xalef @alyx theosophy was at least the result of talking to various mediums over an extended period and trying to make something sensible out of the messages at the time.

say what you want about channeled books but they tried.

some of the new age shit is like :blobcatpuffyhuh: are you just making this up

@icedquinn @Xalef
>are you just making this up

They are. Which is what I think annoys me. They are making shit up out of thin air, and pretend they're some authority in the matter. And to me it's equivalent to lying to me, and telling me the sky is green.

I have a LOT more respect for proper religions, like Christianity. At least Christians have a source so old that they can't really tell if it's true or made up. So even if they're selling you bullshit, they honestly don't know it's bullshit.
But with the new age stuff, they KNOW they make these things up, and still insist they know it's true.

@alyx @Xalef some of its stolen some of its made up. there were transcendental meditation scams where they would charge people thousands of dollars for special prayers and it turned out there were just paper slips inside the cult that assigned everyone the same age the same special prayer.

the mantra is literally meaningless too lol

and they just stole the whole process from a bunch of yogis
@alyx @Xalef altho the meditations themselves and some of the breathing techniques held up under science which is fascinating.

@icedquinn @Xalef
Yeah, but the scammers that do the new age stuff won't actually bother to teach you real, proper meditation. They'll do some washed down version, enough to make you feel like you're accomplishing something.
