A good movie/show (even sequel or a reboot) can absolutely be made without fan service. The mistake that happens when identity politics gets involved is that they intentionally use fan disservice and expect the fans to accept it.
@alyx Totally. It feels like been spit in the face for no reason. And worse of all, been told they are spitting you in the face in the name of the “greater good”.
