good morning, fedi..~

i have had an extremely strong coffee this morning, and i am feeling a little more cheerful today. once again, i say that these wild swings into the red are mentally exhausting and i am so sick of them.. but hopefully today is a better day..

happy friday!

i had something important to say, which is why i came to post, but now i can’t remember what it was. ._.

okay, well, i do want to talk about this today.. and i will follow it up with a poll in the replies. i was thinking last night about the shift in media following 9/11. (i’m talking about 9/11 again, lol.) in the years immediately following 9/11, movies and shows in the US stayed far away from depicting destruction and devastation, terrorism, and tragedy. we wanted patriotism; we felt a sense of unity and wanted to see “the bad guys” get theirs. it was a pretty drastic shift in media as a whole for our country which has been well-documented and smart people have explained much more eloquently than i could.

we all thought (or hoped) covid would be an exciting and temporary hiccup, but here we are two years in with no end in sight. and, at least for me, not having covid staining the media i consume has been a blessed reprieve from having to constantly hear about it all day every day. even though the public reaction to covid has been very different to what it was to 9/11 (9/11 brought us together; covid has torn us apart), i am wondering if anyone else feels this same aversion to having it creep into your media.

well anyway, that’s the topic of this morningpost.. my caffeine high is wearing off a bit, so i’m back to like a 5/10, but that’s right in the middle, which i can handle. have a good day, anon.

when considering whatever media you regularly consume, be it TV shows, movies, series, animu, even books, are you ready to see covid introduced into those stories?

No. It would be as bad as companies pushing Trump/Hillary in the media we consume.
