Should you hound people that aren't even involved if you object to something an unrelated third party likes? What if you do it so much that they decide to change policy to actually allow it?

Here is a diagram lefty activists like to post. The idea is not that you treat everyone as "staunch allies" and "vile enemies", but that there are several positions someone might take, including "no position", and that whenever you undertake something, you should think about the effect. The idea isn't that you move someone all the way on the right side to being on the left, but that you move everyone one notch closer to your position. What you are doing moves people from "neutral" to "opposed". If you actually give a shit about what you're doing, you should pay attention to this. Look at the big black-and-white one, right over "passive opponents" you have "Don't provoke them into action" and here you were, part of the group of people that got FSE to allow loli. You're moving people from "neutral"/"passive opponent" to "active opponent".
