my roommate is spreading nasty lies about me... saying I have threatened to kill them, threatened them with violence, and I fear this could end up with me becoming homeless... I am seriously mentally depressed right now...

Start looking for a different place to stay, find a friend to crash at, whatever it takes to leave that place asap. Don't wait until you get kicked out, but most importantly, don't stay around someone who would blatantly lie about you.

@alyx sad thing is... i don't have a friend who has a place I can crash at, and I don't have the funds to go anywhere else

This is probably gonna hurt, but do you have anything valuable you can sell to make a quick buck? A gaming console, or an expensive phone you could downgrade from, something like that? In desperate times, even if something holds sentimental value, you should be open to the option of selling it to secure your well being.
