wonder how to get this computer to run the desktop off the dedicated gpu so i can try the 4k stuff.
i tried it earlier but renoir screams and gives you like 12fps on cinnamon.

Renoir screams as in it doesn't let you run the desktop off the dedicated gpu? Can't you just disable the integrated one from bios? Or are we talking about a laptop here?

You could probably uninstall AMD drivers, and it should default to nvidia.
I was looking a while back at this older reddit post that deals with switching graphics with an AMD/nvidia system. Might be useful.

Oh... ok. Try looking over the reddit post. You might be able to adapt the instructions there, as they don't have you uninstall drivers.
usually env DRI_PRIME=1 (something) will run a process on the dedi.
