Don't know how those laws might work in USA, but over here, a minor can indeed get married, get a job, own property, from about 15-16 years old, but ONLY with the approval of their parents or legal guardian.

Meanwhile, I keep hearing how American or Canadian schools are trying to get children into gender transition behind the parents' back, acting like the parents have no right to even be informed.

I'd say one of these is miles better than the other, no matter what Stellar might think.
