Deadbeef uses less resources while playing music than foobar2000 does on complete standby. I'm curious if it's just the Wine overhead, or because my foobar install has way too many plugins in it.

In any case, it seems I've settled on Deadbeef as my Linux music player. Since it was build to copy/emulate foobar, there are a few things about it, like how it handles rating or columns displayed in a playlist, that makes it a good fit to use in parallel to foobar.

@satanasur
Does mpv have replay gain? Can it display playlists of thousands of songs? Can it do fast searches? Does it have customizable hotkeys? Can it read/write rating tags from/to files? Can it display album art? These are just a few of the minimum requirements I have for a music player. I'm picky. :peepoShrug:

>caring about all that
Lol nerd get a life :chad:
Tho answer is prolly yes to all of them, mpv is extensible and prolly some nerd did write a script to do it.
