Haven't really gone deep down this rabbit hole. What exactly is the evidence that he might have killed himself, besides a sad twitter post, an emulator being presumably abandoned, and some online accounts not being used?
@alyx Besides what you mentioned, only a word of mouth from his buttbuddy Hector "marcan42" Martin and a cookie jar that was claimed to be his urn by his supposed employer (Wayne Beckett) on KF.

@alyx Exactly. And since Hector still keeps his charade as for the last death record update, and was directly blaming Cloudflare, hosters and whatnot for giving a room for KF, that might actually result in libel case against him if Null lawyers up.

Null would probably have to prove that Near is alive but also that Hector knew he was alive, and honestly I don't think that'd be easy to do. Not to mention that it's not like KF has much of a good reputation. You can't exactly claim the Farms were beloved by the entire internet before this, so how do you prove this had a negative impact on Null?
I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but lawyering up sounds like a waste of money in this case.
@alyx Yeah, pretty much. Fun to think about, but most likely not feasible or worth it in the long term. Still, it is less about reputation losses and more about direct calls to and attempts at deplatforming the forum.
