What's the death rate of the current strain? If it's really low (and I suspect it is), then it won't get attention.

As for "the vaccinated are being hospitalized", we've already know for months that the current strains don't give 2 shits about the alpha variant vaccine. Unless they actually release an updated vaccine, there really is no point in it.
