Cause of the no solar? Did they JUST figure that out?!... fuck it. Humanity is doomed. Just nuke everyone.
@alyx @PinochetsCommieCopter Solar power can be stored, so that isn't it. I thought it might be because of Ukraine and needing to turn power off at night, but this appears to be from Japan and I don't think they would or could turn off critical systems like this. So, who knows.
@robotflex @alyx no its not about solar its about how the power grid cant handle the current small amount of electric vehicles all charging around the same time, but at the same time everyone needs to go to electric and get rid of all gas powered cars

But it's currently not, and current energy storage solutions are either inefficient, expensive to set up, or just damaging to the environment (you know, the thing we're trying to protect in the first place).
I'm not trying to be anti-green here, I just really wish pro green people had the balls to admit to the shortcomings. And maybe realize there's a different green that would work much better in the modern context... radioactive green.
