Eurovision is not Europe focussed. every country being a part of the "European Broadcasting Union" can be a part of the eurovision song contest. Thats mostly North Afrika and Europe. Reason is it is the successor of the "International Broadcasting Union".

Many non european countries, especially west asia and north africa were a part of. The big majority is in europe so the renamed themself to "European Broadcasting Union".

Canada, Australia and Co are assoziated Countries for decades (not members though) and always had the right to participate.

Many north african countries did not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest to not attend a Contest with Israel.

Thats why the only arabic country attending was Morroco in the past.
