Not surprised tbh. Don't they have like millions of fans? As long as they don't keep offline with their IRL identities, it's inevitable that someone comes across them.
there is the Japanese phrase, 3 symbols, which roughly translates to "man inside the costume", i dont remeber it rn
but you put name of your favorite vtuber plus those 3 symbols in google and you can see faces of each one of them.
