On Dec. 28 at the Gateway Transit Center in Portland, OR, a person shoved a toddler face first into the train tracks. The suspect was apprehended. Antifa & far-left activists in the city have argued against police patrolling public transport, saying it endangers people.
Brianna Workman has been arrested and charged for allegedly shoving a young child into the train tracks. She is charged only with assault, attempted assault and other misdemeanors including harassment.

Such attacks happen from time to time. There was a pretty serious one here, a few years back. Funny enough, it was a woman who committed that assault too.
It's usually the case that these people are highly mentally disturbed. Which is why the attacks are so random, sudden, and unprovoked. There's not much you can do for preventing these incidents, except just have better mental healthcare overall.
