@mischievoustomato The idea is that a woman is even more gentle and fragile than a flower. And since you're already supposed to be careful, tender and caring with flowers, it means you need to be even more so with women, as to not hurt them.
@mischievoustomato What can I say, Eastern European women are different. We're still behind with the screeching feminist phenomenon. We still have women who behave like women.

Because it's obvious that women are not LITERALLY more fragile than a flower. But metaphorically and whatnot, it's a different story.
Also, the point isn't if they really are objectively weaker or not, the point is that you're supposed to treat them as if they are more gentle and fragile than a flower. That's the point of the saying. That's the message it's trying to convey.
