Song lyrics i wrote in an hour at 6am that I might turn into music

All the things I've let slip through my fingers
Led me to the point I sing this tune
Were it not for all the pain that I have have brought upon myself
I don't think I'd sit upon the throne I've hewn

Well it's one that's made of firewood, it burns to say the least
But it keeps me going day to day
The worst of expectations are the cause of all temptation
But it's that sizzle that provides the greatest feast

From the moon and stars
To rusty strings on old guitars
To my final resting place if I shall die alone
Engrave my songs into the stone

Put another pint of whiskey in the cupboard
10 shots to lovers I have lost
I know I'll take it slow then buy another quick
For the number truly gone is now forgot

They say that it'll do ya good to feel it trickle down
But drink too much and you will die
Just like the one that got away and you were at fault
All you need is one more round to make things right

From the moon and stars
To rusty strings on old guitars
To my final resting place if I shall die alone
Engrave my songs into the stone

One day I'd love to settle down a wife right by my side
A son and daughter in the den
I often think about just what that kind of life is like
Hellfire can't break what's heaven sent

There's a truth within the ruins that surround me
Locked deep inside an ancient tomb
A golden heart, a silver soul, but a bronze body's all that rolls
Mother nature make way for me in your womb

From the moon and stars
To rusty strings on old guitars
To my final resting place if I shall die alone
Engrave my songs into the stone
