@Zergling_man @Effortless@noagendasocial.com pretty much, anyone using any "private messaging app" other than session or matrix may as well be using discord or facebook messenger at this point

@beardalaxy @Zergling_man @Effortless wouldn't revealing your session id or something in public defeat the purpose of it if they can tie your identity on the clearnet to the session activity?

@grey @Zergling_man @Effortless@noagendasocial.com of course it would. They would have to be either communicating with you in session or have confiscated the device and PIN for the app from someone who was communicating with you. There is really no amount of sniffing that can be done by government order or anything because Session doesn't hold that info and it's all encrypted.

So if you practice good opsec, you're fine. Obviously if you're like "hey my name is Jack Anderson, here's a picture of my face, and here's my session ID so hit me up there if you want some black tar heroin!" you're gonna get cracked but likely, it would be you getting busted first and then law enforcement looking through your session later (if you provided them with the pin at all).

So there isn't anything wrong with session, the problem is your opsec. If you're doing anything that you could get popped for, you shouldn't be attaching that to your personal social media or anything.

At the end of the day though, the feds would much rather spend their resources and time on creating crimes and going after easy targets anyway. So don't make yourself an easy target and don't be a retard who gets groomed by a glowie.
