Honestly I think putting them in the facility like this makes them less interesting and threatening as an enemy. Yeah a couple jumpscares with the vents but they drop in such a way it actually helps you blast them with the shotgun. REmake 2 implemented the lickers in the labs so much better, the lab area is really great in that game. I think with the original this really was the last area of development and probably had the least amount of time, compared to the police station where you really feel that's fleshed out and unfortunately the sewers as well. I suppose with what we'll experience with Claire that makes sense too
Grabbing the magnum parts, honestly I think I did a comparison years ago between the standard deagle and the parts added and because you shoot much slower even with the additional damage I think you can dish out more with the standard and using the magnum for boss fights is more about blasting away as quickly as possible
Again this is more of a throwback to the first game. The t virus made mammals zombies and made other animals into a basically a super powered version or made them gigantic. The g virus is more of a mutating adaptive virus which is why every time you kill Birkin he just comes back stronger. Still it's an interesting little area but it's a bit inconsistent with the g virus which is why I thought both viruses were at play in RE2 when I was a kid and the virus came from the mountains but no, the t virus was dealt with and the g virus spread through rats infecting people in the streets
Throwing away the vaxxxx pass and this shutter right here we can open but there's no point to go here because we won't be able to access the door in this scenario
Tried to show off the damage the shotgun does but the fugging camera angle screwed me. At this point we grab the MO disk and I do have to wonder why we don't have the task of finding an antidote for Ada, seems like either we forgot about that or ludonarrative dissonance where we just grab this thing because it's an important videogames item and we need to progress the story in some way. Yes, the lab part is a bit wonky, not terrible but we did have a reason for traversing the facility and halfway through it feels like we're meandering when we know Ada only has 2 hours before she dies and turns into a zombie or possibly worse since it was direct infection from a mutated Birkin
I remember the first time I played this game I was like, "wait what" when this happened. Honestly Leon A ends super weak because Annette's death is retarded, she just comes back from being thrown into a sewer centrifuge and I guess follows Leon until he gets the item he needs to escape and does another villain monologue and is upset that Leon "killed" William as though he wasn't fugging attacked and Birkin wasn't a monster beyond saving and she helpfully points out that she has the g virus in her hand and then CONVENIENTLY a pipe just falls from the ceiling and cracks her skull. Like I said, the plants could have helped with that but instead the ground just shakes and the pipes fall. With what happens in the other scenarios this was probably the last one done or maybe the first and they fleshed the others out I dunno, the more you think about it the lamer it is. Obviously to try to not conflict too hard with Claire's story it's supposed to be limited but it's just deus ex machina really
Doing this in movies and games is retarded. Don't do it. A person comes back from certain death 50 times at a very convenient point to do something to push the narrative forward, it's just dumb
Ada couldn't pull the trigger and I actually do like the predicament they're in because Ada has been weakened from Birkin and Leon only caught her with the arm where he was shot in the shoulder, he hasn't been treated or had the bullet taken out, he's just bandaged, so he really can't hold on for long and is losing the grip. Ada actually lets go so he can save himself, while we found out she was a spy she seems to not be an assassin or put innocent people in harms way. Considering the drop from this angle I think Leon A is more of a what if scenario and the real scenarios are Claire A Leon B or perhaps both B scenarios(you know, with piecing things around a bit since there are conflicting parts)
Leon no longer has a reason to take the virus with him to the vaccine making machine that I showed in a previous screencap, so he throws it over the edge into the abyss(which is fugging STUPID he doesn't know what's going to happen to this facility as far as he knows where he threw that could cause more animals to spread the infection further you DUMB ASSHOLE)
Really cool bit here if you inspect the gun. I think they also meant there isn't a round in the chamber either, it was an empty threat because she never meant to hurt Leon which is why she wanted him to escape and leave her behind as this shit is way over his head and not his responsibility to deal with and she needs the virus for her employer
If you inspect Annette Leon says something really stupid, "why would she do that?1" I dunno Leon, why would she shoot a spy who was trying to steal her husband's life's work that set this whole series of events off which destroyed an entire city, caused umbrella to come after them both and has incentive to silence her?

Anyways I got a sort of good shot of the damage the shotgun does but not good enough. It blows apart zombie torsos, usually most of the torso including half the chest, an entire arm, and the head. But now that Ada is dead we have no reason to stick around any longer so we're getting out of here and we aren't forgetting anybody at all, just us by our lonesome
This fugging attack. A lot of times when games have monsters with a ridiculous amount of spikes or teeth and they hit you it's like a blunt force hit although it looks like it should be able to tear right through you, well, this isn't one of those cases. I got lucky here or perhaps because it's Easy it doesn't have it but I'm fairly certain it does. This attack sometimes is 1 hit kill

He didn't just chase me, Birkin can jump across the room right at you, so you have to keep constantly moving because if you stop besides to shoot maybe once or twice because he just straight impales you on those front spike teeth whatever tf they are. Sometimes he does this where it throw you around, but I've had fights where the first thing he did was immediately kill me, he's like the hunter in the first game where if you stand still for any amount of time besides a quick shot he just kills you, and the camera angles in this fight DO NOT HELP, you can't see him half the time so you have to shoot blindly, it sucks, when you're doing a no save run on console this is the clutch part and yes I have done those before and yes he killed me in one hit after a rather successful run of getting hit ZERO TIMES I HATE THIS PART AAAAHHHHHHH
There goes William Birkin. Now the first game's final boss has a 1 hit kill move too, however the tyrant winds up and very clearly telegraphs he's about to hit you REALLY hard and you should probably get out of the way, he similarly can kill whoever is helping you fight him, again, he deliberately telegraphs and winds these attacks up though. Birkin does it very quickly, he'll just either jump across to you or run and then you're impaled, so it makes it very frustrating
There you have it, Leon A. Starts off really strong, great for an introduction however the end devolves and becomes very generic and contrived. At the very least if it is the first scenario you play then you only have up to go because the endings of the other scenarios are great, even with Leon B being a little cliche, it's still what you want to see so it's satisfying
Maybe late tonight or tomorrow we'll pick back up with Claire B to show you what she experienced and who that little girl on the train is
We get to see the other side of what happened in the intro cutscene this time, we see Claire stopped at a diner for some reason? In REmake both Leon and Claire stop at a gas station which makes more sense. Not sure why Claire stops at a diner at the entrance of town to rest her legs when the gas station the trucker leaves from is just on the outskirts
Explosion and cool pose. Too bad Claire has a 90s style booty shorts where we used to pull our pants up to our navel, and yes we actually did do that I remember doing it, it isn't just a movie thing or california fashion
