@MK2boogaloo >using google as your search engine in 2022
@beardalaxy trueee, fortunately I use DDG from 2021. I want to move to Searx but I never try it before.
@MK2boogaloo I stopped using ddg for 2 reasons: 1) they started getting faggy and working with Google and Microsoft ad shit and 2) the search results were meh, I needed to go on Google half the time anyway.
I used yandex for a while but it was pretty unwieldy.
I haven't used searx at all but it seems cool in concept. I use brave search right now and it's actually really good imo, it has a cool feature I haven't seen before where it will specifically show discussions on pages like stackexchange and reddit when you're searching questions. I rarely have to use Google for better results anymore.
@beardalaxy I have tried using Brave in my phone, and it's a good experience. It's fast, light, comes with good addons, and the search engine is great.
But I'm using Firefox atm on my PC. I have some data that I don't want to lose lmao, maybe when I build a new PC I would switch to Brave completely. Same as distro.
