Just tried playing multiversus. If I hadn't ever played smash it might be okay, but it just doesn't compare. No shield, no grabs, too floaty, nothing feels like it has any real impact, some jank animations, can't fall through platforms as easily, doesn't support GameCube controllers very well, no ledges but also infinite wall jumps, no wavedashing. Also it gave me a stupid generated name and wouldn't let me change it.

It's still in beta so maybe it gets better, but it's clear that their design is decidedly not smash.

The platforms are killing me. My gamecube controller was recognized right away though, works fine. Overall I would still play smash over MV any day of the week but MV is a lot more accessible and I can use discord with it.
Is it through the adapter or is it a smash bros Gamecube controller?

@mccree It's the mayflash adapter in pc mode. Rivals of Aether, Nick All Stars Brawl, Slap City, and even A Hat In Time all support the official adapter and the mayflash one in Wii U mode but Multiversus doesn't period.
