@dave 2080ti, just upgraded from a 1080. Before that I had a 1060 6gb. Using an i5 10600k and 16gb ddr4 2666mhz ram (mobo limit, technically it's 3400).
I helped my friend build his first pc with the 1080 in it, he upgraded to the 2080ti right when it came out and sold the 1080 to me for $200, then just barely the 2080ti had a broken fan so he gave it to me and said if I can fix it I can have it. Otherwise, I would be running something a lot worse.
Funny enough, I haven't used any RTX features yet because I've been almost exclusively playing 10+ year old games since I got the card xD or pso2 which has DLSS but I already get 90+ fps at 1080p and that's my monitor's max res. I really wish more games had internal resolution scaling but in the opposite direction to basically be SSAA because my rig can totally handle it and I hate post processing AA like FXAA. I wish MSAA was still around too. I know NVIDIA has that DRDLS or whatever the fuck that kind of does that but it's unfortunately not been supported by any games I play often xD
@dave he's a pharmacist, he bought a 3080ti when the 2080ti started having problems lol. and that was before GPUs crashed hard.
it was technically broken though, so it makes a bit more sense. he'd just give it to me. he's my best friend since 6th grade too so i'm sure that has something to do with it xD
