@Moon i didn't know it was the fediverse and not mastodon when i first joined, so i was calling it mastodon when talking to my friends about it and now that i've told them so much about "mastodon" i can't just start saying it's "the fediverse" otherwise they'll have no idea what the fuck i'm talking about
@beardalaxy @Moon All you have to do is tell them that you got the name wrong and then call it the fediverse going forwards, after a while it will sink in like it did when you were calling it mastodon. You may have to remind them a few times to begin with but afterwards I think they'll get it.
@beardalaxy @Moon Well, I could be overestimating the company you keep but I'm going to assume they can handle a change in names. But if it doesn't come up in conversation then fair.
