@dommymommy I respect Jesus whether He was the Son of God or not, because He was anti-religion. I think that since religion is run by man, it is in its very nature imperfect. With something as supposedly important as it claims to be, it always felt like I was gambling with my soul by making concessions for religion instead of what I believed and felt. If there is a God, the best way to go about it is to have a personal connection without any interference from someone who claims to be God's mouthpiece and asks that you pay them so that they can tell you what is right and what is wrong.

I was Mormon for 19 years of my life, left the church while I was on my mission, and now to put it simply to people I still say I'm Christian just because I like Jesus's teachings, but for the most part I'm an optimistic agnostic.
