It's one thing to be self aware enough to say "I know the dub ruins the game I just don't care because I think the game itself sucks too much to get anything but laughs out of it."
But a lot of people legitimately have no idea what is being lost. They think that's just how the game is supposed to be. It's tiresome.
speaking in general here, not just about Shenmue, although it is a great example. the vibe of the game is night and day between the JP and EN.
