@hazlin @Platinum no. It doesn't use a router or a regular phone or whatever, it uses wifi signals. Plenty of things use wifi signals but don't connect to the internet or anything like that. Case in point, wireless mouses and keyboards that connect over USB. They use Wi-Fi signals. This technology is similar, just using the signals for imaging. I wouldn't trust it much if you were required to have it online, but if it's just an offline camera box that could honestly be pretty useful as opposed to a traditional camera. Only downside (or upside depending on how you look at it) is no actual picture, so less info to go off of if you're looking for someone who pulled some shit off in your house. It would be more just proof that it happened, maybe for like insurance or something.
