@rasterman yup. In high school I had a lot of seizures because I was under a lot of stress and not getting enough sleep. So I try to keep my life as free from stressors as possible. Thankfully I'm usually pretty good at it, and when I'm not I'm usually in a depressed state so I do get enough sleep.
In high school I'd sometimes only get 2 hours of sleep right before school, but never wanted to bring it up to my parents because I was supposed to be in bed so I'd just pretend I was sleeping. Then I'd go to school and be faced with all the stress that comes with that, then I'm having seizures which is stacking on more work for me to do and I'm failing classes, and I was having a spiritual crisis the whole time. So yeah high school was tough.
People ask why I can't do stuff anymore since I haven't had a seizure for over 8 years but it's because I don't do stuff that I haven't had a seizure. Still come close plenty of times though, even with something as simple as a 10 minute jog.
I play a pretty wild balancing act all the time that's only possible because of years of bullshit that taught me what to do and what not to do. There are times even now where I'll recognize I'm having more absence seizures than usual and just warn everyone about it just in case.
